Mothers Day card!

Hi everyone!
Just popping in quickly today to share this card I created for my mum for Mothers Day. (Yes - A CARD!!! Those who know me will giggle, as I am not known for my penchant for card making.)
If you would like to know how I created this card, I have a step by step tutorial over on the Off the Rails blog today. You can find it HERE

{Patterned papers by Cocoa Vanilla Studio; blank card by Kaisercraft}

Here's a close-up of some of the details...

glitter bow by Crate Paper}

I would love for you to pop over to the Off the Rails blog and see my whole tutorial. While you are there, don't forget to check out the current challenge too. There are only a few days left to enter and be in the running for a fabulous prize from 2Crafty!

D-lish Scraps May Inspiration Board!

Hi everyone! Well, we are fast heading towards the end of the month, so I thought I should pop in and remind you about this month's D-lish Scraps Inspiration Board Challenge. This month's gorgeous board is called "Peach Kisses" and it's SO pretty!
Look at this...

And here's my take on it...

{Patterned papers , Project Life cards and die cut ephemera by Heidi Swapp; printed vellum by Pretty Little Studio}

The colours in this board are beautiful - I loved the soft tones! (And I am so happy this board finally prompted me to scrap these photos from when Brielle & I went to see Heidi Swapp, it was a great day.)

Here's a closer look at all the D-lish Scraps goodies I used...

{"Hello" wood veneer from the Wood Veneer Arrow Set;  Oriental LilyCherry Blossom and Cosmos Daisy}

{Pinkfresh gold frame also from the "Up in the Clouds" pack; Gardenia}

Other D-lish Scraps embellishments used include a Pinkfresh Studio "Up In the Clouds" gold rub-on; a journal card from a previously released Just Add Paper kit; pastel sequins; and Forget Me Nots.

Don't forget you only have until the end of the month to enter this challenge. Up for grabs is a $30 store voucher for the winner chosen by the Inspiration Team and a "Just Add Paper" kit for a randomly drawn entry. (Definitely worth playing for!)
So what are you waiting for? Get scrapping!

D-lish Scraps May Projects

Just thought I would pop in and share a couple of my projects that have featured on the D-lish Scraps blog this month.

The first was this mixed media based layout, which made good use of some 5 year old papers and stickers and lots of gorgeous D-lish Scraps embellishments...

{Papers and stickers by Basic Grey}

There is no doubt my absolute fave D-lish embellishment is paper flowers. There is such a huge range of beautiful blooms available and they are such good value too. (You can check them out in the store HERE)
Here are a few close-ups...

{Freckled Fawn 'This' paperclip, paper flowers & sequins from D-lish Scraps; Love Candy embellishment from Burdy's Embellies; stamp by Heidi Swapp}

{D-lish Scraps 'Captured Moments' flair and paper flowers; Burdy's Embellies satin flower}

{D-lish Scraps sequin bow, paper leaves, flowers and sequins}

My second project I created was a canvas I made for my mum for Mothers Day. (I thought this would be a nice way to give mum flowers that would last longer than a week!)
Here is my canvas...

So many beautiful D-lish Scraps products on this piece! Here are some close-ups...

{D-lish Scraps paper flowers, coloured wire, and sequins; journal cards by Project Life}

{D-lish Scraps paper leaves & flowers, gold foil doiley, coloured wire and sequins}

Thanks for stopping by today, (especially if you have made it to the end of all those photos!) I will be back soon to share my take on this months D-lish Scraps Inspiration Board Challenge.
Til next time, happy scrapping! X

A Flying High / Sugar & Spice Layout for Cocoa Vanilla Studio!

Hi everyone! I don't know about you, but it's been a CRAZY past month around here, so many things happening! Today I am popping in to share a boy layout I created using products from both the "Flying High" and "Sugar & Spice" collections from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. (This was featured on the Cocoa Vanilla blog yesterday.)

Here is my layout...

I love this pic I snapped! Not only does my gorgeous boy look so happy engaged in his play, but the array of bright colours was just perfect for these papers!

Look at that combination of colours & patterns - I just love mixing them up like this! In addition to the papers, I also added plenty of "Flying High - Accessory Stickers" to my layers, then added the "awesome" flair from the "Flying High" set to top it off.

This layout was super quick to put together, largely due to the fact I required very few additional materials to complete it - white cardstock, a bit of white thread, and a couple of stamps. You gotta love that!

I didn't even need to add journaling or a title, I just let the phrases on the stickers say it all for me!

This cork paper is one of my faves from Cocoa Vanilla. I love the fact it adds a textured look to the background and that it makes the bright colours pop! In keeping with the theme, I added a scattering of stars from the "Flying High Wood Veneer Shapes" set to my layout too.

Thanks for stopping by today and for everyone who takes the time to leave me comments on my work. (I have been struggling for time to get around to other people's blogs lately, so make sure I can find you and I will put your blog at the top of my hit list!)
Til next time, happy scrapping! X

Scrap the Boys May Challenge!

Time for a mid-month reveal from me (where did that half of the month go? Eeeeek!) This one is for the May Scrap the Boys challenge. This month's theme is "Pound the Pavement" (think bikes, scooters, skateboards, etc).

Here is my take on it...

{Papers by Studio Calico; Glitz Design; Prima; Echo Park; Bo Bunny and also Project Life cards.
Die cuts by Heidi Swapp and Shimelle for American Crafts}

{Cool cogs from Burdy's Embellies; wire from D-lish Scraps}

{Flair from Flutterby Designs}

{Think it's time for a new Sharpie!}

Thanks for popping by. I would love to see everyone joining in this fantastic challenge. Entries are open until the end of the month, so get scrapping those boys!!! X

D-lish Scraps Cyber Crop Challenge!

So I thought it was time I shared this layout here and reminded everyone that time is running out to get your entries in for the current D-lish Scraps Cyber Crop. Crops are held every month in the Facebook group The Scrap Suite, so if you aren't a member already pop over and join HERE. Besides the awesome challenges you will find a great group of people and tons of inspiration!

I set my first challenge for this crop, and started with the colour challenge. (Right up my alley, because I loooove colour challenges!)
Here is what I created...

{Papers and die cut ephemera by Teresa Collins}

Given that colour challenges are already restrictive, I have kept the criteria simple - create from the palette provided (white, charcoal, red, gold, silver). You don't have to use all the colours, but can't add any others.

Of course I used plenty of D-lish Scraps embellishments on my layout...

{D-lish Scraps wood veneer snowflake; silver foil doiley; tab from a previous "Just Add Paper kit"}

I coloured the wood veneer using a metallic marker and I will definitely be doing it again! The colour went on like butter and it added a beautiful shiny finish which I did my best to capture in the photo.

{Another snowflake wood veneer; silver coloured wire}

I LOVE using the D-lish coloured wires! I love how flexible they are, yet I can bend them exactly how I want and there they stay. I adhered them simply using a stapler and I like the industrial-type touch it adds to my layout. (Plus it is much easier than dragging out the glue!)

If you would like to enter my challenge (or any of the other fabulous challenges the DT has up this month), then join The Scrap Suite HERE and check them all out. You don't even have to blog your entries either, simply upload to the corresponding challenge folder in the group. There is a randomly drawn prize for each challenge and entries are open until 5pm, next Friday 15th May.
Pop in and join us, I'd love to see you there! :)

Sugar & Spice for Cocoa Vanilla Studio

What a busy month it has been here! Right off the back of Easter and our return to school came special visitors, daughter's birthday, school events, weather events, and lots of extra jobs on the home front (including a big clean out of our back shed which was flooded in the recent torrential downpour here in SE Qld).

Luckily, I have managed to fit some scrapping in though, and here is my latest work for Cocoa Vanilla Studio, which was featured on the blog yesterday...

I love these gorgeous papers, and I wanted to show just how easily you can create with this collection. Beautiful papers will speak for themselves, so I added minimal embellishments to this layout - "Sugar & Spice" stickers, wood veneer, and a flair button. (The only items I added from my stash were a sheet of white cardstock and a paper doiley.) Creating using a coordinating collection makes everything easy!

Layering papers with coordinating stickers is a quick and easy way to add depth to your layout (without adding bulk). Finish it off with a wood veneer or flair button for an extra touch.

So there you have it - a fast layout and a fast post from me today. Don't forget you can find all the Cocoa Vanilla Studio products in the store HERE or simply ask your favourite retailer.
Til next time, happy scrapping! Sue X

Show Us Your Stuff May Challenge!

Back again today with another share  - this one is my take on the May challenge for Show Us Your Stuff, which is a sketch challenge from our very own Vicki. (Who happens to be visiting in Queensland with me RIGHT NOW!)

Here is the original sketch, and my rotated version...

And my interpretation of it...

{Papers by Studio Calico; Glitz Design; and Bo Bunny; Project Life card}

Some close-ups...

{Glitz Design journal card; metallic flair and Motex label journaling - both from D-lish Scraps}

{Silver foil doiley, coloured wire and speech bubble wood veneer all from D-lish Scraps}

{More coloured wire and sequin bow from D-lish Scraps; stickers by Glitz Design}

Thanks for popping in today, I do hope you will join in with our challenge this month. It's a fabulous sketch which is easy to put your own spin on. (I love to see what everyone creates from the same sketch!)
Thanks to everyone who takes the time to leave me comments as well, you really do make my day! X

Off the Rails May Challenge!

May? Seriously? (I swear it was only March yesterday!) First of the month means new challenge day again, and this month I am starting with Off the Rails Scrapbooking. The May mood palette was once again designed by the very talented Fiona Paltridge.

Here's what it looks like...

And here is my take on it...

{Papers by Kaisercraft and Basic Grey; frame by My Minds Eye; stickers also by Basic Grey}

Lots and lots of layers went into this layout. I love how much depth it has...

{Paper flowers from D-lish Scraps; fabric flower by Prima; vellum bow from Rainbow Splendour}

{Prima fabric flower; D-lish Scraps paper blooms and flair}

Thanks for visiting today. I hope I have inspired you to add this month's Off the Rails challenge to your list! There is a fabulous prize up for grabs from 2Crafty chipboard. Entries close at the end month - happy scrapping & good luck! X
